Sultan Telecom Brings DAB+ to Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY � Sultan Telecom announced the inauguration of the second of the two radio broadcast station projects with the Ministry of Information. The project consisted of setting up for the Ministry an FM & Digital Radio Broadcast Station in Subbiya. This is the second project executed for radio and digital transmission; the first was opened in the Janoob Al Sabahiya Area a week earlier, according to zawya.com.

The new broadcast station transmits on both FM and DAB+ simultaneously, using three FM transmitters each with 20 KW of power. There is also a fourth redundant FM transmitter as a backup. Moreover, the station is also equipped with an RDS system allowing receivers to automatically tune to one of the transmit frequencies and �enabling high audio quality while in motion and an excellent listening experience.� The Radio signals are transmitted via a 200m high tower equipped with two power lines fed by two generators provided by the Ministry of Electricity & Water.
