The BBC Continues DAB Coverage Expansion for the U.K.

London �Another 12 national-network DAB transmitters have been turned up in the U.K., bringing the total number to 278. This network now covers 95% of the U.K. population. The new transmitters are part of the plan to provide coverage to 97% of the U.K. population by 2015.
According to the BBC, Coverage has been added and/or improved in the following areas:� Bampton, Beer, Sidmouth (Devon)� Alton (Hampshire)� Blandford Forum and Winterborne Stickland (Dorset)� Findon (West Sussex)� Ventnor (Isle of Wight)
These transmitters bring 35,000 households into the BBC''s national coverage area and improve digital radio reception for a further 265,000 households. For the first time listeners will be able to tune into the BBC''s digital only services in Kirkconnel, Sanquhar and Langholm in Dumfries & Galloway, Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay and Llanidloes in Powys.
