ARLINGTON, Va. The Telecommunications Industry Association published a revision the TIA 222 standard earlier this month.
According to the online abstract, This standard provides the requirements for the structural design and fabrication of new and the modification of existing antenna supporting structures, antennas, small wind turbine supporting structures, appurtenance mounting systems, structural components, guy assemblies, insulators and foundations.
National Association of Tower Erectors Executive Director Todd Schlekeway said in an email, NATE is excited that the TIA 222 Rev H Standard is now available in the marketplace for the industry to utilize. The TIA 222 Rev H standard includes important updates pertaining to tower design, analysis, inspection, climbing facilities and weather impact that are extremely important in keeping the industry's workforce safe when working at a communication tower site. Many subject matter experts from NATE member companies were involved in the development of TIA 222 Rev H and we thank them for their diligent efforts.
