SUNRISE, Fla.�Mobile music developer IK Multimedia has announced a new update to its virtual instrument app, SampleTank 2. Designed to work with iOS, specifically the iPhone and iPad, SampleTank 2 can access as many as 1,900 desktop virtual instruments and sound and groove workstation.
Sampletank 2 users can load up to eight simultaneous instrument parts that can be played live or when composing with the device interface or an external keyboard or pads controller. The sound engine is the same as SampleTank 2�s Mac/PC software counterpart.
New features for the app include six new �Pro-Instrument� packs that offer hundreds of new sounds, as well as three new downloadable libraries for in-app purchase; more libraries are scheduled for monthly releases. There is also a redesigned interface for new creation and composition features, including a new instruments and patterns browser; Live interface; song mode interface; Pads interface; and MDI learn. In addition, the app is compatible with IK�s iRig products for greater control.
Users can download the SampleTank 2 app from the App Store now; there is a free version and a paid version ($19.99) that features more available instruments.
