RASTATT, GermanyLawo has announced a software upgrade to version 5.6 that supports allmc2series consoles, Nova 37, Nova 73 (compact), mc2Micro Core, and Dallis card 946/42.In addition, the update enables the integration of Waves plugins with the mc2series, as well as a new iPad app.
Version 5.6 allows Lawo systems that support the Ravenna transport mechanism to enable a new backbone technology for Nova 73 and Dallis components. There is a dedicated slot-card for Nova73 systems and Dallis devices, which allows hybrid systems to be built using traditional MADI and AES infrastructure in parallel to IP Layer 3 based networks. The software updates also enables Nova73 and Dallis cards to automatically update to the required firmware when plugged into a mc2or Ravenna system.
Additional upgrades as part of the new software include an improved HTTP I/O, a new DSP configuration page, support for MultiRack commands, a new function to trigger channel parameters via GPIO, and allowing midi-strings in custom functions to be up to 64 characters long.
One area that this upgrade does not cover is the ability to support integration and control of A_Mic8 devices. Lawo does expect to include this in a minor release version of 5.6, however.
