REEDSBURG, Wis.After announcing the CL-12 Linear Fader Controller, an optional accessory for the 688 mixer/recorder, earlier this year at IBC 2015, Sound Devices has announced that the CL-12 is now available for shipping worldwide. The CL-12 comes in either a standard model or the CL-12 Alaia, which features Penny & Giles faders and custom hardwood side panels.
The CL-12 adds sunlight-viewable LED metering to the 688, as well as a multitude of buttons for quick access to key functionality like fast-track arming, naming, routing and transport controls. The controller features a three-band parametric equalizer for each of the 12 inputs and the ability to monitor audio directly from the CL-12s headphone port. Additional shortcut controls include ones for metadata entry, COMs and SuperSlot wireless receiver monitoring.
In addition, the CL-12 includes ports for a USB keyboard connection for metadata entry, remote control via third party applications, and for powering an optional USB lamp.
Sound Devices plans to make the CL-12 compatible with 664 and 663 products as well in the future. Customers can download the latest firmware update for the 688 here.
