BAYSIDE, Calif. StreamGuys announced the second iteration of its cloud-based live stream repurposing, rebroadcasting and podcast management system, is now available. SGrecast 2.0 adds tools to further streamline audio content creation and management.

New features include AudioLoggers, side channel workflow changes and the ability to to create embeddable archive and single-file players.

According to the release, AudioLoggers enable repurposing of content while it is being recorded. AudioLoggers record streams 24/7 and automatically segment the recordings based on metadata, changes in stream metadata or time intervals.

Other workflow changes include the separation of recording and rebroadcasting functionality, meaning a side channels recording settings can be edited, while its rebroadcast is live or its rebroadcast parameters can be modified during recording, StreamGuys announcement says.

SGrecast 2.0 enables users to create embeddable archive and single-file players for on-demand media in the system directly from the content management interface, the company says. Also, an updated dashboard provides access to both recorded and uploaded content in a single place.

Also, the update enables administrators to define user roles and permissions; user accounts can be restricted to specific tasks, and operators user experience can be customized based on their role.

As radio broadcasters continue to expand their footprint in the podcast space and repurpose a greater percentage of their live content, improvements to their content creation and management workflows can deliver significant savings in cost and effort, StreamGuys Executive Vice President Jason Osburn said in the release. He added, Many of its features will be particularly valuable to enterprise-level broadcasters with 24/7 live content to process and multiple operators using the platform.

The new version will be showcased at NAB Show, where StreamGuys will co-exhibit with technology partner ENCO in booth N3824.
