TASCAM Announces 64-Track Recorder DA-6400

Features include internal SSD drive and pro I/O options

MONTEBELLO, Calif.�TASCAM has announced it will release a new 64-track recorder, the DA-6400, in November. The DA-6400 records to an internal SSD drive for live and event recording, features professional I/O options like MADI and DANTE, and is available with either a single or dual/redundant power supply.

Included with the DA-6400 is an AK-CC25 hot-swappable caddy containing a high performance 240GB TASCAM solid-state drive. A USB 3 jack is included in the caddy for standalone use. The DA-6400 records 64 tracks at 48kHz/24-bit or 32 tracks at 96kHz/24-bit. SMPTE timecode, world clock, RS-422, parallel and Ethernet connections are included on the rear panel.

I/O options with the DA-6400 include the IF-MA64/EX interface card, with coaxial and optical MADI connections. A redundant coaxial connection makes the card ideal as backup recorder for DAW sessions. Other I/O options include IF-MA64/BN coaxial MADI card, IF-DA64 Dante card, and the IF-AE16 AES/EBU card.

TASCAM will release the DA-6400 and DA-6400DP in November at starting prices of $3,499.99 and $3,999.99, respectively. All cards and caddies will be released in November as well, except for the IF-DA64, which will be released in December, and the IF-AE16, which will be available in March.
