CLEVELAND�Telos Alliance�s Z/IPStream X/2 and 9X/2 software is getting a boost with the addition of Fraunhofer�s xHE-AAC codec. The company also announced that it would offer special promotional price for both versions of the Z/IPStream.
The xHE-AAC codec is designed for high-performance, low-bitrate streaming and includes integrated speech-coding tools, as well as improvements to general audio-signal coding. This provides in low-bitrate audio streams for both talk and music content. The codec can start as low as 6 Kbit/s per channel and offers reduced buffering time, increased service reliability and providing more streaming time before reaching a data limit, according to Telos.
The promotional price for the Z/IPStream X2 software is $650, down from its traditional $995; the 9X/2 software, meanwhile, is being offered for $1,495, down from $1,995. Upgrading from the X/2 to the 9X/2 can be done for $995, compared to its usual price of $1,250. In addition, A/XE customers can now upgrade to the X/2 for $255.
