CLARET, France -- Sept. 2, 2010 -- NETIA today announced that Sofrecom Argentina, a subsidiary of Sofrecom France and a France Telecom / Orange company, will serve as a dealer of the NETIA CMS (Content Management System) for the Latin American market. The NETIA CMS builds on the company's well-established media asset and workflow management solutions to give telco operators and broadcasters a straightforward, multiplatform content delivery solution. In addition to supplying and supporting the new CMS, Sofrecom Argentina will also serve as a systems integrator for NETIA solutions installed across Latin America. Sofrecom Argentina will showcase NETIA solutions at key industry events, including the upcoming "Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones en el Bicentenario" Telco and IT trade show in Buenos Aires, from Sept. 21-24, 2010, at Stand F41 and G65."The NETIA CMS gives telcos and other media companies the comprehensive functionality, efficiency, and ease of use they require to maximize the value of their content across a broad range of platforms," said Flavio Passa, regional account manager at Sofrecom. "We look forward to introducing this exciting solution to customers in Argentina and throughout Latin America." Since 1992 Sofrecom Argentina has provided innovative technological solutions to the telecommunications, banking, insurance, and health industries. With more than 500 professionals located in Buenos Aires, Sofrecom Argentina is positioned to meet both industry standards and the needs of its clients. The company will now leverage this expertise to provide the NETIA CMS to customers across Latin America. The CMS enables telcos to ingest media and metadata from a variety of sources, enrich media with supplemental metadata to enable more effective management and more powerful search capabilities, and to prepare and distribute that content to any service provider or multimedia platform. To streamline and automate these processes, the software interfaces with ingest, production, newsroom, storage, and automation applications while the NETIA Workflow manager organizes workflow processes, harmonizes exchanges between different applications, handles prioritization across the system, and automates content distribution processes. The CMS provides tools for metadata extraction, transcoding, quality checking, image processing, and subtitle management, as well as for content packaging, metadata tagging, and rights management, with workflow-supervision guiding these processes. Configurable rules govern the delivery of content to specific service providers and numerous platforms ranging from video-on-demand to set-top box, catch-up TV, and Internet news portals. "Sofrecom Argentina offers a strong combination of industry knowledge, market expertise, and technological capability that will enable CMS customers to make the most of our powerful new platform for end-to-end media management and delivery," said NETIA CEO Christophe Carniel. "We're very pleased to be working with the company in bringing flexible, intuitive CMS solutions to the Latin American media companies."More information about NETIA and its products is available at # #About NETIA NETIA, a GlobeCast company, is a leading provider of software solutions that enable efficient management and delivery of content to today's full array of media platforms.
