PARIS�The 1981 Group (an association of independent broadcasters in France) has reaffirmed its commitment to digital radio, and will respond by July 17 to theCSA�s solicitation for comments regarding the expansion of digital radio across that country, according tolalettre.pro.

The 1981 Group believes in the vital importance of digital radio for maintaining the economic model of broadcasting, and its capability to overcome the lack of spectrum. They were quoted thus: �Digital radio overcomes the lack of frequencies and offer more choices to listeners, while allowing local stations have the opportunity to reach an entire region.�

�1981 Group radio stations have an ambitious digital strategy and we must have the same ambitions for digital radio,� said Jean-Eric Valli, chairman of the 1981 Group.
